Female Holding
« on: October 02, 2018, 07:51:28 PM »
Hello everyone. I have a female peacock holding. Should I take her and move her into another tank to be by herself or keep her in the breeder tank with the two other females and male? Thanks in advance.

Do you plan on keeping and raising the fry?  Do you have another tank big enough for them?  What kind of Peacock?  Are the females and male the same species?

Thanks for the reply Kingston. I have decided to take the female out of the breeder tank and let her spit naturally in the 10 gallon by herself. I do plan on raising the fry and I do have a grow out tank. The male is a blue dragon blood but I donít know what kind of female. I got her at a mom and pop aquarium store.

I would not have taken her out too early.  I usually wait till she has held for about 15-18 days.  But no matter, let's wait and see.

Unless she is being harassed (if there is enough females, she would not be), she would feel better (more safe) among other females.  There is also more room in the main tank=lower stress level.

Hey Kingston. So my female ended up spitting about 45 fry naturally. Thanks for the tips.
