with work season growing like crazy and the new Harley and ultra marathon training,, my time is real tight.. Im grateful that all is well with my 1210 gallon diy aquarium system. Everyone is just doing their fishy thing. I set up a 10 gallon tank for the daughters mollies. Now that there has been a baby explosion, I must go bigger..  lol  I sold all of my other tanks during past year but have all needed to build a 240 gallon plywood and glass tank for them ? But I might rethink that..  Best to everyone and have a blessed Easter weekend !

14 days is usually not too bad to go without a WC.  I have missed a few before with no issues, but never more then 3weeks.  What was your Nitrate readings before?
Glad that your Peacocks (yeck) are doing OK.

Welcome to ACH :thumbup  Just so I understand, you sold Lee all of your fish?

I did yes, from memory some lovely Ps. Flavus, Cynotilapia Afra “Chiwinde” (I seem to remember Afra got reclassified?), couple of Acei, few labs...

They were lovely fish and I really enjoyed keeping them but it was stopping us moving forward but it’ll be fun to start again from scratch!

That is kinda odd. 14 days isn't really bad  Do they both have a problem with both eyes? Could it be that they got into a scuffle and hurt each other? And maybe the added days of uncleaned water effected them since they are used to very stable conditions? Just thinking out loud.........

Welcome to ACH :thumbup  Just so I understand, you sold Lee all of your fish? Tough decisions have to be made when we move :13  So now that you are settled, no better time to get back into the hobby  I noticed that you registered a few years back in preparation for this day :10 Obviously you've been thinking about it for a while :06  Best of luck with your new setup :thumbup

I sold up my tanks in order to re-decorate and prepare for moving house... that process ended up taking eight years!!!

Incidentally, I found a post from the guy I sold all my fish to here! http://africancichlidhub.com/forum/index.php?topic=1674.0

I'm now settled in the new home and my thoughts have turned back to getting a new tank and filling it with mbuna. So, update me... what's new? Any big genus change scandals I need to be aware of?  :D

Wow.....I missed one water change. Went 14 days and I had two fish develop popeye.  I cleaned one of the filters with the usual 50% water change, and the fish are rapidly improving. The KH reading was 14, so I guess it was just water quality. I'll be back on weekly changes, with a 75% change. I do have 11 pretty large peacocks and haps in my 75G, but I run an FX6 and Eheim 160g, so there is plenty of filtration. That was a first !!
