Newbie here.  Loving all the info and have spent hours researching, reading, and watching you tube. Finally landing here has been a real treat.  I'm in the very initial stages of my Mbuna built.  Piecing it together over the next 4 or 5 months.  First purchase were 2  FX6 filters for $249 each at Petsmart.

My goal is a 180 gallon, Mbuna tank with around 40 occupants and 4 to 5 of the least aggressive species I can put together.

Looking forward to learning more. (ALWAYS appreciate advice, learning, and tips (as well as criticism).   Really enjoying the forum and the youtube channel.

Thanks all!

This is an awesome start! I wish some day soon I will live somewhere (not upstairs) that I can have a big tank.
I look forward to your updates!

Hi all i hope your all well.

My names Arron just started up a african cichlid aquarium. So far ive now from today got 12 fish. Today i bought an additional 6... i thought what i bought was a maison reef as it was colourful but now looks totally different in my tank. Not sure how to put pics up but its colour seem loads duller now. Not sure if this is due to more dominant members or is it a female? Its a light blue with vertical stripes and yellow/ orange egg spots however the from fins arnt black like photos ive seen. Could the colours get alot brighter over time?

Look forward to hearing from you..

P.s i hope you dont mind me adding all this to my newbie pist haha

Welcome Arron!
You are going to have so much fun with your new tank.

Looks freshened up Kevin :thumbup Thanks ;)  I'm not much of a tech guy but are there other features that would help members link photos, videos, etc to the site? Or other user friendly features that could attract new members?

Hi guys,

I just updated the forum a bit on the technical side and also changed some colours around.
What you think? Please comment when you notice some bugs or features that aren't working anymore.

Have a nice day

I appreciate your input jcarson702, and I do agree. I am looking into what I can do, to bring this back to live. I'll keep you updated and you'll probably notice fairly quickly ;)

Hi guys,

Is this forum sill alive? Almost 7 years after creating it.. How is everyone doing ?

Cheers
Kevin

It is! And thank you Kevin for your contribution in the creation of a place that I feel I can come to for knowledge and feeback.

I do have some feedback and as not to offend long time veterans of this site but I think we/you have to ask the question. Do you/we want this to be an exclusive club only to cater to long term contributors and members? .

Or do you/we want this to be a place of constant learning and where ANYONE  can come and ask the newbist of questions and not get told constantly to use the search feature and get reprimanded for asking a question that has been asked 10k times. I get it for you that have been here a while that it gets old, tired and played out.

But new members are the life blood of any forum and I see how this site once thrived but if new members aren't coddled and made to feel at ease here, it will die.

I dont want that. I have found that in my limited time here, ya'll have been good to me and I respect and am appreciative for it. This is for me a place where I can come and read posts and dive into topics and learn. And it should live on this way for everybody.

Just my opinion.
